Christmas Message

Iam very glad to meet you once again through this quarterly magazine of our Shrine
‘Votive Voice’. This issue consisting of October, November and December is of a great
importance for every one of us. Because each of these months give us an event to be
celebrated and remembered.
The month of October is a very special month because this is the month that is dedicated
to Our Lady of Rosary. Throughout this month Our Holy Mother Church calls us to
pray the Holy Rosary as parishioners, as families and as an individual. Because we need
the intercession of Our Blessed Virgin Mary whom we can confidently say the most close
to God, to receive the graces of God.
Secondly, as we hear the word ‘November’, all that comes to our mind is ‘All Souls”.
This is the month that is dedicated for ‘All the Souls”. Every year during this month, we
remember the persons who have gone before us from this world. And Our Holy Mother
Church strictly asks us to pray for every person who had died before us. Because our life
dose not comes to an end by our physical death, here on this earth. Rather it is a continuous
process where is we go to the next stage of our life which is closer to God. Therefore
realizing the importance of this month, let us remember all the departed souls and pray
during this month.
Thirdly, the month of December does not deserve any special specification about itself.
Because we all know the great importance of this month, it is the month we celebrate the
Nativity of Our Saviour Jesus Christ. “I am bringing you Good News of great Joy for all
the people; to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior” (Lk. 2:10,11) is the message
of our redemption. “Though he was rich, He became poor for our sake” is the central
message Christmas gives us. And, we in return live that qualities of Jesus by sharing with
the poor and the needy. Because Christmas is nothing, but the Day of God’s sharing with
humankind. Therefore, realizing its depth, let us celebrate and live it meaningfully
Therefore, let us rejoice and celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and not only
that but also we are bound to proclaim it to all the creations by our very words and deeds.
Finally wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year 2012, may the New
born Child Jesus bless us and lead us as one family.
